The Future of Contrast Therapy for Sports

ORX Pro 2 is an amazing tool in providing natural, safe pain relief on demand versus taking a pill to speed up the healing process.

The 2023 Michigan Wolverines Collage National Champions relied on the ORX Pro 2 Cold and Hot Contrast Compression Therapy machines throughout 2023 and continue to do so.

Cold – 38°: Pain Management Post Injury

The ORX Pro 2 unit is designed to help professional athletes heal and recover faster. Our groundbreaking iceless technology integrates cold and heat contrast settings and multiple compression settings into 1 total system so that you have control over your healing journey. Safely receive therapy around the clock, even when you're sleeping, easily and faster anytime, anywhere. Designed for athletes.

Heat - 109°: Pain relief and increases in blood flow, metabolism, and elasticity of connective tissues.

Hot therapy is often used in the subacute or chronic stages of an injury when inflammation has decreased, but there is still stiffness or discomfort. It helps to relax muscles, improve flexibility, and increase blood flow to the area.

Heat is a vasodilator and can be used to introduce/re-introduce fresh blood flow into an affected area. Thereby bringing in oxygen, nutrients, and healing properties to that area.

Heat therapy with compression should be used daily by athletes to perform at their best and avoid injury!

Compression: Remarkable Compression you have to feel! 100mm Hg

Compression Therapy

Compression therapy involves applying pressure to the affected area using compression garments, wraps, or devices. It helps to reduce swelling, improve circulation, and provide support to injured tissues.

Intermittent Compression
Intermittent compression is often used post-exercise or post-injury to accelerate the removal of metabolic waste products and reduce swelling. It can also be used during long periods of immobilization to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT). It helps to improve venous return, reduce edema, and prevent the progression of these conditions.

Combining Contrast and Compression Therapy
In some cases, therapists may combine contrast and compression therapy to enhance the benefits of both modalities. For example, applying contrast therapy with compression can help to reduce swelling, manage pain, and promote tissue healing more effectively.

Contrast: Switch from cold to heat fast! True Contrast Therapy

Contrast therapy involves alternating between hot and cold treatments to help reduce pain and inflammation, improve circulation, and promote healing.

Ideally, we could get rid of this inflammatory exudate and metabolic waste quicker by cycling blood flow and healing properties through contrast therapy. The added compression component will help expedite this process and allow for a deeper affect in targeted tissue.
